 1). Maneskin (2021)

First up is the 2021 Rotterdam competition winners, Måneskin. The sexually-charged mixture of stomping glam metal and swaggering rock 'n' roll stood out on the line-up of the competition and led to the Italian rockers taking home the title and the adoration of a new generation of rock fans. Following Eurovision, the band now boast sold-out dates around the world and appearances at The Brits and the MTV EMAs.

 2). Blind Channel (2021)

Another entry from the 2021 Rotterdam competition comes the Finnish nu-metallers Blind Channel. While they didn't perform as well as fellow rockers Måneskin in the votes the band have enjoyed some success following their appearance with shows in the UK as part of a big European tour.

 3). AWS (2018)

Back in 2018 AWS represented Hungary at the Lisbon final with the track Viszlát Nyár. The band tended to use their platform to bring awareness to social issues by juxtaposing images of violence with images of celebrity culture within their music videos. Unfortunately frontman Örs Siklósi passed away in February 2021 from leukemia at the age of just 29.

4). Alexander Ryback and Keep Of Kalessin (2009)

Previous winner (2009) Norwegian pop artist Alexander Rybak returned to the Eurovision Song Context three years later in 2011 alongside the metal band Kalessin. We're not quite sure how or what spawned this collaboration but it rightfully deserves a place in the top ten rock songs at Eurovision.

5). Lordi (2006)

Who could forget Lordi? In probably one of the most memorable appearances at The Eurovision Song Contest ever, the Finnish hard rock outfit stormed to a win with their unique blend of prosthetics and metal sensibilities. With their 2006  victory with 'Hard Rock Hallelujah', it marked the first time a heavy metal song had won the competition. The band have had continued success following their appearance touring the world and playing metal festivals such as Download and Sonisphere.

6). Apocalyptica (2007)

Only a year removed from their fellow Fins Lordi reigning supreme at the 2006 contest, Finland's finest metal masters Apocalyptica featured as an interval act in their homeland. Yes while we understand this technically doesn't count as an entry, how could we not have this included in the tope ten rock moments?!

7). Wig Wam (2005)

A year prior to Lordi, Norwegian rock 'n' rollers Wig Wam competed with the catchy-as-crabs glam metal banger, In Your Dreams. "We would love to see rock 'n' roll conquer the Eurovision Song Contest," said singer Glam. "This is a contest of glam and who else than us are the best representatives of this kind of music?" Wig Wam would undergo an unlikely renaissance experience this year when their song Do Ya Wanna Taste It was used for the opening credits of James Gunn's Peacemaker.

8). Hatari (2019)

At 8, the Icelandic Hatari provided two of the most memorable moments at the 2019 contest with the band performing their track Hatrið mun sigra. With a Rammstein-esque industrial metal with throbbing dance beats for their entry alongside being decked out in full leather straps the band easily stood out from the competition. The band also shocked the Tel-Aviv crowed by donning Palestine flags during their green room appearances, showcasing their rebellious rock attitude.

 9). Teräsbetoni (2008)

Coming in at number 9 on our list is yet another entry from Finland! We're not sure what the reason is behind so many Finnish acts performing metal songs but we love it! This Finnish entry from 2008 at the finals in Belgrade comes from Teräsbetoni with their performance of Missä Miehet Ratsastaa which translates to "Steel Concrete". Make of that what you will..

10). Eldrine (2011)

The last entry in this list comes from the 2011 contest via Georgia's Eldrine. While this possibly isn't the greatest rock moment at Eurovision, it still nevertheless is worthy of a place in the top ten due to the band gaining a very respectable 110 points in the final.
